After a few days in my new home town (city) looking for apartments I headed to the mountains of Georgia for the famed Mulberry Gap Mountain Bike Get-a-Way. I had heard about this venue in years past so it was always in the back of my mind. My biggest worry coming into this place was the amount of riding (climbing) I'd be doing without much conditioning. Alas, I didn't care, as usual, and was excited to spin in a new place.
The Get-a-Way was better than I imagined, because it was late spring I had no need for a cabin, and this trip was about saving where I could. It is tucked away on a forest road in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest and a gorgeous site to come upon. Pump track, skills area, cabins, and hot tubs. A quaint little spot where one family has been making there mark quietly and expertly. I obviously opted in for the meals (which true to the marketing are big and delicious). Upon arrival people were strolling in from rides, the owners were busy, so I wandered and made friends with the local felines. After check-in I strung my hammock down by the creek, the only one inhabiting these sites for the weekend.
